Water & Toilets The home is on a septic system. Toilet paper can be flushed, but please use it sparingly to help keep everything running smoothly.
Electricity The Riviera Maya occasionally experiences brief power dips or “brownouts.” Power usually returns within seconds, but you may need to reset a few items such as ceiling fans, A/C units, or appliance timers.
Food & Amenities Make yourself at home — you’re welcome to enjoy any food, drinks, toiletries, or household items that are already here.

A/C & Energy Use
Electricity is expensive and the jungle climate can strain A/C units.
- Feel free to keep the A/C cool at night.
- During the day, please set units to 75–78°.
- Keep the setting on “auto” rather than “on” to prevent freezing.
- If you open doors or sliders to enjoy the breeze, please turn off the A/C to avoid condensation and humidity buildup.
