Our Tulum home was featured on HGTV’s House Hunters
Filming this episode was one of the most surreal experiences of our lives. What started as a simple search for a home in Tulum turned into a full five days of cameras, crew, and moments we’ll never forget. This page shares the behind‑the‑scenes moments that didn’t make it into the episode — the real story of how our home became part of House Hunters. Season 253, Episode 8
House Hunters is produced in collaboration with National Geographic, and that alone still blows our minds. These are people who know the planet better than anyone; the landscapes, the ecosystems, the places that truly stand out. For them to look at our home and call it a “jungle paradise” says more than we ever could.
When we first started looking for a home in Tulum, we never imagined our search would end up on House Hunters. The producers reached out after hearing about our move to the Riviera Maya, and before we knew it, we were standing in front of a camera, trying to remember our lines and act natural while a dozen people adjusted lights around us.
The episode follows our journey through Tulum, Akumal, and the surrounding jungle. The places that made us fall in love with this part of Mexico. We visited the Akumal Animal Sanctuary, explored a local cenote, and walked through the property that would eventually become our home. Seeing those moments captured on camera was emotional, and exciting.
